The high desert has soooo many places and you have too little time!.
This could be an out-of-this-world experience:
Wine, tees, chilled energy drinks and .... rocks.
You've got to stop in and I dare you NOT to smile. John and I ran up the mountain from Palm Springs to pick up his standing weekly order of cottage made bread at the Wine and Rock Shop in Yucca Valley, CA. A post card moment unfolded in front of our eyes. The white stucco gleamed in the blue skies. The front door was propped open. Indie music was playing.
About eight peeps were casing out the natural wines on the white enamel painted wooden shelves. A beautiful young miss sat quietly at a desk with a cash register, too interested in something on her laptop to notice any guests. No greeting here. Oh yeah, they also have a small assortment of polished rocks, tees with weed prints and alien ideas.
The plain and simple promise:
- Natural wines
- Chilled energy drinks
- No frills
- No hospitality
- Retro minimalism
The surprise:
Even though I crave people and socialization, the simplicity works!
